Tottenham face a battle to sign Rennes midfielder, Eduardo Camavinga, with Sport Bild claiming Bayern Munich now want the young Frenchman too.
Camavinga, 18, has already made a big impression on the European stage and has two caps and a goal already for France.
His form with Rennes, plus massive potential, have made him a wanted man, with Football.London claiming that Spurs are keen on looking into a potential £54m deal for Camavinga.
However, news of Bayern’s interest could throw a spanner in the works for Spurs. The German giants are well known for attracting the continent’s top talent, and Camavinga could well see Bayern as a huge challenge.
Camavinga has made no secret of his desire to move to the very top clubs. He told AS previously that he ‘dreamed’ of a move to one of the big clubs, although he failed to name who, amid talks of Real Madrid interest.
Bayern, then, are certainly in that big-club bracket and could well hinder Spurs’ chances of any deal here.
A waiting game this one, but someone will land Camavinga – TBR View
One of Europe’s and football’s brightest talents simply isn’t going to be staying in Rennes much longer than necessary.
Camavinga is too good and has already shown for France how good he can be. The fact a teenager can even break into that squad, never mind play and then score, shows how good he is.
Spurs are right to keep in the hunt here given Camavinga’s qualities. But you do get the nagging feeling on the ‘giants’ of Europe will get their way in the end.
