Report: Bayern Munich want Leeds star

Italian outlet CalcioMercato have claimed that Bayern Munich are the latest team to become interested in Leeds United attacker Raphinha, amid links to both Liverpool and Manchester United – as the Brazilian continues to shine for the Yorkshire outfit.

Raphinha, 24, joined Leeds last summer and has since had a hand in 10 goals during his 22 Premier League appearances. The uncapped Brazilian has scored five goals – including a free-kick against Southampton – and five more assists.

Plenty of talk has been made about the player’s future, who told the Leeds website earlier: “I’m really happy to be here in Leeds being part of this institution, it’s a real pleasure. I’m really enjoying the city, I’ve really been made welcome here.”

However, that has not stopped rumours emerging about the winger. Indeed, the latest report from CalcioMercato state that a new side have joined Liverpool in the race for Raphinha and it is no least than the current champions of Europe – Bayern Munich.

TBR’s view – If Raphinha is to leave, Bayern is best for Leeds

To join United, Liverpool or another English side would be bitteringly hard for Leeds fans to take. Leeds will be hopeful they can keep Raphinha at least for another season – but ultimately if he continues his form, he will end up moving to a bigger club.

If Leeds are to sell Raphinha – who has already starred in France and Portugal with Rennes and Sporting Lisbon – then surely they need to let him go to a club not competing in Europe. Bayern, then, makes sense, if he is to leave.
