According to Foot Mercato, Bayern Munich have made a bid for Konrad Laimer, who is also wanted by Arsenal and Liverpool.

What’s the story?

Well, it was said that Jürgen Klopp is keen to sign the Austria international, who idolises Steven Gerrard.

Elsewhere, Arsenal expressed an interest in Laimer after he rejected a new contract at RB Leipzig.

Now, however, Bayern Munich have made the first concrete move.

Foot Mercato believe the German giants have submitted a bid worth €24m (£21m) in total including add-ons, although Julian Nagelsmann may need to increase that offer.

The French news outlet claim that RB Leipzig do not want to sell Laimer, and are set to reject the bid.

Interest in the 25-year-old comes after he scored five goals in 42 appearances last season, while also providing six assists.

In our view, Arsenal or Liverpool have a good chance of hijacking Bayern Munich’s pursuit if they keep tabs on negotiations.

RB Leipzig – despite rejecting the bid – will probably need to sell Laimer this summer if they want to make any money from his sale, as he has now entered the final 12 months of his contract and seemingly won’t sign a renewal.

Therefore, we believe they will cash in at some point, so if Arsenal and Liverpool offer a bit more than Bayern Munich, it will surely tempt RB Leipzig.

Additionally, selling Laimer to the Premier League means RB Leipzig will not be strengthening a direct Bundesliga rival, so Mikel Arteta and Klopp’s chances are good.

Only time will tell what happens, so be sure to keep an eye on the situation.
