Spurs could face a fight from Bayern Munich if they wish to sign Real Madrid’s Lucas Vazquez, according to reports coming out of Germany.

Sky Germany report that Bayern have indeed made contact with Vazquez’s representatives. And that is a view that has been echoed on the My Bayern Week podcast this week, where respected Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg backed up those reports.

Vazquez is said to be on his way out of Real Madrid after turning down their latest contract offer. ABC Sports claimed yesterday the Spaniard had indeed rejected fresh terms, paving the way for a move.

The diminutive forward has been a success in Madrid. He’s been part of the Champions League winning squads in recent seasons and has been a trusted player within the squad, despite not always starting.

Both Spurs and Arsenal are said to have cast their eye over Vazquez. However, Bayern’s interest could well scupper their plans of any summer deal.

While the Premier League is attractive, so is the chance to play with Bayern Munich, who are almost a guarantee of success.

Vazquez is a winner and has proven himself in Madrid. He’s quick, good with the ball and can chip in with useful goals when needed.

But Bayern are a huge club and if Spurs did have hopes of landing the Spaniard, they need to hope that the German club pull out really in order to attract Vazquez to London.
