Football website 90Min have claimed that Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund are both interested in signing Tottenham Hotspur youngster Troy Parrott – with the hope that he can emulate Jadon Sancho’s success in Germany.

Sancho, 19, joined Dortmund from Manchester City in 2017 and has since gone on to make 66 senior appearances – scoring 18 goals and laying on a huge 30 assists. He has even become an England regular, with 10 caps already to his name.

That success has seen many other German clubs look to the Premier League as a scouting pool. Ademola Lookman, Reece Oxford, Lewis Baker and Jonjoe Kenny have all joined Sancho in the top tier of German football.

Now, Dortmund and Bayern want to recreate that success again with 17-year-old Parrott. The Irish youngster has already made his debut for Spurs’ first team, and is expected to be handed more first-team opportunities this season.

TBR’s view – Tottenham cannot let Parrott go, for any price

Keeping the young goal machine should be of paramount importance. He is already showing a predatory instinct that has seen him score 15 imes in 13 Under-18 outings for Spurs, and four in 13 Under-23 matches.

In a couple of years time there is no reason why Parrott will not be a constant feature of Spurs’ matchday squad. Keeping the striker is crucial to the future of Tottenham – whether Harry Kane remains or finally opts to leave.
