Report: Barcelona think Arsenal target Tielemans has agreed next move
The Gunners have been heavily linked with Tielemans over the last few months. His contract at Leicester expires at the end of the season. And, from the outside, it would not be a huge surprise to see him move on considering how long his deal has left to run.
Sport reported last month that Arsenal have now spoken to Tielemans about a potential move. But there is rival interest.
Barcelona think Tielemans may have agreed move
That report from Sport noted that Real Madrid were eyeing Tielemans as a potential alternative to Jude Bellingham. Meanwhile, Marca notes that Barca are also in the running.
Xavi is really keen to bring Tielemans to Camp Nou. However, Barcelona have noticed that the 25-year-old is not jumping at the chance to move to Catalonia. And with that, they suspect that he already has an agreement elsewhere.
Of course, that does not necessarily mean that he has agreed to join Arsenal. But clearly, it is a lot more likely if Barcelona believe that they are set to miss out.
Tielemans would have the potential to be a really smart signing for the Gunners. He has been less impressive since the speculation about his future really started.
But he is an outstanding midfielder, who has been labelled ‘incredible‘ in the past. And on a free transfer, he could be an absolutely inspired signing.
Plenty of Arsenal supporters will be delighted if he ends up at the Emirates in the coming months.
And if they have an agreement in place with the player himself, perhaps there may be scope to try and agree a fee with Leicester which will allow Tielemans to move during the January window.
