Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo have claimed that Barcelona are keeping tabs on Celtic left-back Kieran Tierney in a long list of left-sided defenders they want to provide competition to Jordi Alba.
Financially, Tierney is Celtic’s most-prized asset given that the report claims Celtic are requesting a fee of £26.5million for the Scotland international’s services. They will be desperate not to lose Tierney, though.
Only 22 years of age, Tierney has clocked up an enormous 170 appearances for the Scottish champions since making his debut aged 17 in a Scottish Premiership win over Dundee.
The report claims that Tierney is also on the viewfinder of Manchester United and Arsenal, but Barcelona have also shortlisted the defender along with seven other left-sided defenders.
Bayer Leverkusen’s Wendell, Paris Saint-Germain’s Juan Bernat, Arsenal’s Sead Kolasinac, Borussia Dortmund’s Raphael Guerreiro, Real Betis’ Junior Firpo, Atletico Madrid’s Filipe Luis and Porto’s Alex Telles are also on the list.

It is believed Barcelona find Celtic’s asking price too steep for Tierney, with the report claiming Barcelona “does not contemplate” spending that much for the defender’s services.
TBR’s view
Tierney has a big decision to make. He has a number of options to choose from. The first is, whether he should stay at Celtic and become a one-club man.
Secondly, Tierney could make a big-money move to a club like Barcelona, Arsenal or Manchester United, but struggle to become a regular for any of those interested parties.
Lastly, and perhaps the best move, Tierney moves to a side that are somewhat more mid-table and establishes himself in one of Europe’s best leagues before going on to one of the aforementioned bigger clubs.
