Report: Barcelona have made contact with Spurs over Harry Kane
According to a report from Spanish outlet, Sport, Barcelona have placed Harry Kane on a list of three strikers they’d like to sign this summer.
The report claims that Barca have already initiated some sort of contact with Kane’s representatives. However, the England skipper is said to be option C on a list that includes Erling Haaland and Lautaro Martinez.
Speculation over Kane’s future is rife at the moment with Spurs managerless and for another season, trophyless. It is believed that while Kane isn’t pushing to leave, he is open to the idea of the club accepting any big offers for him.
Barcelona would seem an unlikely destination at the moment for Kane, though. The likes of Manchester City and United are bound to be more appealing, while the La Liga club are also struggling financially.
Kane is the Premier League’s top scorer this season with 21 goals. Clubs are said to be preparing to bid around the £100m mark for him, although Daniel Levy will no doubt look for even more.
TBR View: Kane to Barcelona is surely just a pipe dream for the Spanish club
Barcelona like to have their name linked with the very best players so it’s no surprise to see them crop up here with Kane.
But the idea they can realistically sign the Spurs star is a bit far-fetched. They are a club in a bit of dissaray at the moment and with finances that are in a huge mess. So where they get the money from for Kane, is a bit of a mystery.
Further, it’s unlikely Kane will fancy a move abroad in all honesty. City and United seem the more viable options as things stand.
