Report: Barcelona ace's agents trying to advance talks with Arsenal over potential N5 switch

There could be some movement in the Arsenal goalkeeping ranks this summer.

Gunners goalkeeper Bernd Leno looks likely to leave the Emirates Stadium in search of regular first-team football.

Meanwhile, United States international Matt Turner will soon be arriving in north London.

So Mikel Arteta looks likely to have Aaron Ramsdale as first-choice and Turner as back-up.

However, a report from Spain has claimed that another goalkeeper’s agents are pushing for their client to join Arsenal.

The player in question is one the Gunners have been routinely linked with over the past few years – Barcelona’s Neto.

As per Sport Witness, links between Arsenal and Neto go back to 2019, when he was at Valencia.

Now, Spanish outlet Sport has claimed that ‘his agents are trying to advance with Arsenal’.

The 32-year-old ‘wants to leave to play’regular first-team football.

And there could be ‘an agreement with financial compensation if he finds a team’.

Neto joined Barca from Valencia in 2019, penning a four-year contract with a €200m (£172m) release clause.

However, he has been a perennial bench-warmer at Camp Nou, making 21 Blaugrana appearances.

Though Neto is a decent keeper, Arsenal probably aren’t a great shout if he wants first-team football.

Ramsdale did well last term and has plenty of room to grow, so Mikel Arteta will probably stick with him as first-choice.

Turner is a talented keeper too, and he’ll likely challenge Ramsdale for the gloves.

So it’s not like Neto would instantly be challenging for a regular starting spot.
