According to Mundo Deportivo, Spurs midfielder Giovani Lo Celso is a target for Spanish outfit, Atletico Madrid, this summer.
The report cites information from the English media as its source, believing that Lo Celso is of interest once again to Atletico, after they initially cast their eye over him in 2019.
Lo Celso, who earns a reported £70k-a-week in North London, has dipped down the pecking order a bit this season. Albeit, however, due to a couple of injury problems that have disrupted his progress.
The Argentinian, 24, has appeared 19 times this term, scoring five goals. A recent hamstring complaint has held him back of late, and with Dele Alli coming back into form it seems, he could see his opportunities limited under Jose Mourinho.
Atletico, meanwhile, may jump at the chance to try and sign Lo Celso. They know him well from his time with Real Betis, where he impressed before sealing a £27m move to Spurs in 2020.
TBR View: Lo Celso should stay put for now, he has plenty to offer at Spurs
Lo Celso was playing pretty well in fairness to him before injury halted his season. He’s a fine midfielder on his day, capable of playing both deeper and advanced roles if needs be.
In reality, Spurs should be looking to keep hold of Lo Celso. They need a squad of quality, and the Argentine is certainly a quality player.
However, if he does start dropping behind others, Lo Celso himself might seek a move. At this point, Spurs may indeed consider a sale, especially if they can get their money back.
