Atletico Madrid are preparing to offer a choice of three players as they bid to prise Alexandre Lacazette away from the Emirates Stadium.

According to Marca, Los Rojiblancos fancy the French striker and are willing to offer Thomas Lemar, Angel Correa or Vitolo in a potential swap deal.

It is thought this deal was offered to the Gunners in January but it was rejected. The report claims that the stance of both clubs might have changed and Atletico are preparing to offer it again.

Lacazette signed for Arsenal in 2017, costing the club £46.5 million from Lyon (BBC). In 127 games for the Gunners, he has scored 48 goals.

Boss Mikel Arteta is attempting to reshape his squad though and the £182,000-a-week player could be allowed to leave this summer.

It does seem unlikely that Arsenal will go for any of the three players on offer, given that the trio haven’t exactly set La Liga alight.

Lemar has been loosely linked with the Gunners previously but failed to register a single goal contribution during 2019/20.

Vitolo, 30 can play on either flank and has played nearly 200 games in La Liga. Last season he scored three times and registered three assists from his 35 appearances.

Correa is a difficult one as there is clearly a lot of potential there but he’s failed to showcase his talents just yet.

He scored seven goals and registered eight assists last season from 44 outings in Diego Simeone’s team.

Capable of playing in a number of positions, the 25-year-old is perhaps the only one of the three worth pursuing for Arsenal.

TBR View – Forget the players, Arsenal should just demand cash

Arsenal want to reshape their squad this summer allowing Mikel Arteta the chance to get the club back into the Champions League picture.

With that in mind, the Gunners should just demand their full valuation for Lacazette this summer.

There’s an argument that Correa could do a job in the Premier League but he shouldn’t be added just for the sake of it.

Getting money for Lacazette would allow Arteta to add the players he actually wants this summer and that seems the most important thing right now.
