Aston Villa are interested in Norwich City pair Todd Cantwell and Emi Buendia this summer, according to a report from The Telegraph.
The Villans are gearing up for their second season back in the Premier League. They narrowly avoided relegation, but it appears that Dean Smith is going to be given the funds in the hope that they do not find themselves in a similar situation next year.
The Telegraph notes that Ollie Watkins is on his radar. The Brentford forward worked under Smith at Griffin Park.
Meanwhile, The Telegraph has also claimed that both Cantwell and Buendia are on Villa’s wishlist.
TBR View: Norwich stars could be exciting additions to Villa’s squad
Unlike Villa, Norwich were unable to stave off relegation. Nevertheless, Daniel Farke’s men impressed many with their performances at times throughout the campaign.
And two of their key players during the season were Cantwell and Buendia.
Buendia only scored once and will be disappointed with that tally. But he still managed to contribute seven assists for the Canaries.
Cantwell scored six times and set up another two.
Norwich will surely not allow either to leave Carrow Road on the cheap. But both players will surely, at some stage, consider how they may respond if offered the chance to stay in the Premier League over the coming weeks.
And it appears that it may be Villa who offer the pair another opportunity.
