Aston Villa are reportedly interested in wigning Nice midfielder Wylan Cyprien, but the player is said to prefer a move to Bordeaux.
Foot Mercato claimed on Friday that the Midlands club are ‘convinced’ by the star’s potential, and that a €17.5 million/£16 million offer is on the table from the Premier League club.

But Le10 Sport say the 25-year-old does not prioritise a move to Villa and instead has his sights set on a domestic switch to Bordeaux.
That is despite the likelihood of Villa being able to offer a better financial package.
There is currently no agreement in place between Nice and Bordeaux, which does keep Villa’s hopes of landing the player alive, however it seems for the moment that a transfer for Cyprien to Villa Park is unlikely.
That said, Villa could be in luck if nothing comes of the Bordeaux interest, with the player only having a year left on his contract, meaning Nice are under pressure to sell.
TBR’s View – Villa must keep monitoring the situation
Villa should keep their eye on the situation with Cyprien, as he is a player that could greatly improve their midfield.

The star is a great box-to-box type player, and he could bring real energy to Dean Smith’s engine room.
If there is any hint a move to Bordeaux won’t come to fruition, then Villa should definitely see if he is keen for a move to the Premier League.
