Aston Villa are considering a loan bid for Steven Nzonzi with the Roma-owned midfielder likely to be on the move this month, according to a report from the Daily Mirror.
Dean Smith is looking for the signings who can take the Villans away from the relegation zone in the Premier League. Unfortunately, his first signing of the window did not get off to the best start at the weekend.

Danny Drinkwater had a debut to forget. And it appears that Smith is eyeing further reinforcements in the middle of the park.
The Daily Mirror reports that Villa are interested in Nzonzi, who has spent the first-half of the campaign on loan at Galatasaray.

The Mirror suggests that Nzonzi has fallen out of favour at Gala and is likely to return to Roma, who signed him for £27 million in 2018.
TBR View – Nzonzi could be a shrewd signing
While Villa are seemingly not looking to sign Nzonzi permanently, a loan move will surely not come cheap either.
And that should perhaps leave Smith slightly wary of making a move. They arguably have bigger issues to address before the transfer window shuts. And they will not want to leave themselves without the funds to sort those problems.
But Nzonzi has Premier League experience and was particularly outstanding during his time with Sevilla. He has always made five appearances in the Champions League this season.
If he can recapture his best form, he could potentially prove to be an inspired signing for the Villans.
