Aston Villa are set for even more success in the transfer market in the coming days with Lyon set to accept a bid for Bertrand Traore.

According to the Daily Mail, the Villans have upped their offer for Traore to around £19m after seeing an earlier bid rejected by Lyon for the former Chelsea man.

Foot Mercato had claimed earlier in the day that Villa had seen a bid of just over £15m rejected for the winger, who made 35 appearances for the Ligue 1 outfit last season.

However, Villa’s latest bid is set to be accepted by the French side, with the Midlands outfit set to beat out the likes of Leicester, Fulham, and Crystal Palace to get Traore’s signature.

Traore is, according to the report, said to be keen on making the move back to England and sees a move to Dean Smith’s men as the ideal chance to return and prove himself in the Premier League.

Still just 25, the former Chelsea man has 52 caps for Burkina Faso, with eight goals. Along with Milot Rashica and Emi Martinez, he could be Villa’s third potential signing in the coming days.

When Traore was at Chelsea, it was clear he had all the ingredients to become a top player he just never got the chance to show it.

But since going to Lyon, he’s excelled and developed into the sort of player many expected. And at 25, he still has plenty of time in the bank to improve further and make an impression in England.

Villa are making big moves. If Traore does sign, coupled with the signings of Rashica and Ollie Watkins, then they could be a massive threat to a number of PL clubs this season.
