Spanish outlet Cordopolis have claimed that Aston Villa are rivalling Spanish giants Real Madrid and Barcelona for the signature of Cordoba’s teenage winger Andres Martin.
Martin, 19, shone for second-tier outfit Cordoba last season, having a hand in 11 goals during 32 league and cup appearances despite his tender age. He scored against Deportivo, Las Palmas and Granada.
It has seen a whole host of clubs become interested this summer, with Barcelona and Real Madrid topping the tree in terms of stature. Spanish outlet SPORT claim Barcelona are willing to spend £3.5million on Martin.
Cordoba need to sell the winger to solve their financial woes, and were willing to accept less than that figure. It puts Barca into pole position, above Real Madrid, Aston Villa, Sevilla and German side Eintracht Frankfurt.

The wide man has a contract until the summer of 2022, but the likelihood is that he will be leaving this summer. Villa are yet to table an offer for the pocket-sized attacker.
Martin is showing enormous promise in a difficult league, especially given Cordoba’s current crisis that always finds a way of reeking havoc and affecting the team’s performances.
Cordoba were relegated from La Liga 2 last season and only managed 48 goals all season. Martin had a hand in 10 of those, with six league strikes and four assists. At 19 years of age, that is highly impressive.
A bargain fee of £3.5million is likely to attract plenty of clubs, but the chances of Martin turning down a move to Barcelona or Real is unlikely. Villa’s only hope is that Martin is keen to chance his arm in the Premier League.
