Turkish outlet Fotomac have claimed that Aston Villa striker Jonathan Kodjia has agreed terms with Besiktas, but a move is far from materialising as discussions between the clubs continue.
Kodjia, 29, remains a back-up striker at Villa Park after the newly-promoted side opted to splash out a whopping £22.5million to sign young Brazilian striker Wesley Moraes from Belgian side Club Brugge.
The 16-time Ivory Coast star has just 12 months remaining on his Villa contract and the Midlands side may be forced to get rid of the striker, if they want to bring in some cash for a player they signed for £15million (Guardian).
Dean Smith has told his Thursday press conference that he does not want to leave Kodjia, but with the striker supposedly agreeing terms, Villa may have to wave goodbye to the powerful striker.

TBR’s view – Villa must sign Sturridge, if they sell Kodjia
Villa’s only option to replace Kodjia would be to bring in a striker. The club would need to replace the Ivorian, with little else as options up front other than youngster Keinan Davis.
Daniel Sturridge remains a free agent following his release and he has indeed been linked with a move to the Midlands side. Offloading Kodjia and bringing England cap Sturridge to Villa Park would be excellent business.
Besiktas is a somewhat lucrative move for Kodjia, given the Turkish side finished third in the league last year and qualified for the Europa League.
