The Sun have claimed that Aston Villa are set to make an £8million move to sign Kasimpasa star Trezeguet this summer, after two excellent seasons in Turkey for the SuperLig outfit.
The 24-year-old went on loan to Kasimpasa from Anderlecht in the summer of 2017, and shone in Turkish football – hitting the back of the net 16 times and laying on a further eight assists.
He signed permanently last summer, after an excellent World Cup with Egypt, and netted another nine goals last season as well as 10 assists. He has two years left on the three-year deal he signed last summer.
But Villa are on the lookout for another winger this summer after already landing Jota and Anwar El Ghazi on a permanent basis, and 39-time Egypt international Trezeguet is high on their shortlist.

His form at this summer’s African Cup of Nations has also helped, scoring the winner against Zimbabwe and helping Egypt win all three group games. Trezeguet, and Ahmed El Mohamady, now take on South Africa in the last 16.
TBR’s view – Trezeguet at £8m is a bargain for Villa
Trezeguet is an excellent player and certainly has plenty of flair, enough to prove to be a success in the Premier League. But the best thing about the potential deal is the price.
At just £8million, Villa will be getting a player that has scored 25 goals and laid on 18 assists in the past two seasons at a decent standard of football. Turkey is no Premier League, but it is still a strong level.
So, the seven-figure fee is a bargain and gives Smith another option out wide. If Villa are to survive the drop, creating goals from little chances is key and Trezeguet is seemingly very good at that.
