A number of Aston Villa fans have taken to Twitter react to reports from the Daily Mail which have suggested that they are set to step up their interest in Callum Wilson after struggling to make progress in their bid to sign Ollie Watkins.
The Daily Mail reports that Villa value Watkins at £18 million. However, Brentford are looking for a fee of around £25 million for their top goalscorer.

And the Mail has suggested that the difference between the two clubs has prompted the Villans to put their bid for Watkins on the back burner.
It is suggested that they are now prioritising a move for Wilson, who is keen to leave Bournemouth following their relegation from the Premier League.

The Mail adds that the Cherries do not plan to sell any of their key players on the cheap. So it will be very interesting to see if Villa have any more luck in their push to sign Wilson.
The news that Villa are ready to turn their attention to Wilson has not gone down at all amongst some of the supporters on social media.
It could be argued that the Bournemouth man is a safer bet for Villa. Watkins is yet to play at the highest level. Meanwhile, Wilson has scored a number of goals in the top flight, including seven last season.
But Watkins is arguably the more exciting target of the pair. The 24-year-old can play anywhere across the forward line. And he could have done little more to prove that he is ready for the Premier League having scored 26 goals last season.
It would be a surprise if Wilson cost considerably less than Watkins. And for that reason, it is little surprise that there are some fans who are a little perplexed by Villa’s stance.
Here is how some of the Villa fans have reacted to the reports…
