Aston Villa have reportedly named their asking price for defender Frederic Guilbert.
The Frenchman’s future is now in doubt at the club following the arrival of Matty Cash from Nottingham Forest.

Guilbert actually had a good first season at Villa Park, but Cash’s arrival, plus competition from Ahmed Elmohamady has seemingly prompted the club to transfer-list the 25-year-old.
L’Equipe claim Villa would be willing to sell Guilbert if they receive an offer of €5m million/£4.5 million, which is just slightly less than the reported €5.5 milllion/£5 million they paid Caen for him (Birmingham Mail).
It is thought there is a good level of interest in Guilbert, with France Football reporting last week that Premier League and Championships are keen.
There is also apparently some interest from FC Nantes.

Villa fans have reacted to the idea of the popular Guilbert leaving, with the majority against his potential departure.
TBR’s View – Villa should aim for £5 million+
Villa should surely be aiming to extract more than £4.5 million for Guilbert, who did catch the eye in the first half of the season.
He has a contract until 2023 so Villa are in a very healthy position, and with interest seemingly high, there’s every chance the club can recoup what they paid for the player and perhaps get even more.
