Tottenham will reportedly not be signing Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish this summer.

According to Sky Sports, the 23-year-old will turned down any further advances from Spurs this summer.

It is understood that Mauricio Pochettino’s side made three offers for the English playmaker last summer, with the maximum a £25million fee.

The report details that the North London club were planning to pursue the Villa ace in this transfer window, but he achieved promotion from the Championship with them via the play-offs and will captain them in the Premier League next season.

Grealish made 35 appearances across all competitions this campaign for Villa, scoring six goals and supplying eight assists in return.

TBR’s View:

Grealish certainly fits the profile of a potential Spurs signing, but it seems they will have to wait at least another year before potentially reigniting interest.

Pochettino’s side are an attractive option given their style of play and the fact they are currently preparing for a Champions League final against Liverpool.

But Grealish is a boyhood Villa fan and it’s no surprise that he will have a crack with the back in the Premier League.

The creative playmaker is certainly one to watch next season and is going to be key to trying to keep the Midlands club away from relegation trouble.
