Aston Villa are being linked with Bournemouth attacker Joshua King as a possible transfer target ahead of the January window.
According to The Athletic, Villa are “likely” to consider the 28-year-old and reignite interest in him.
The report explains that Dean Smith’s side were keen on the forward during the summer window, but he ended up staying with Bournemouth in the Championship.
King, who was valued at £18million (Sky Sports) in October, has had a stop-start season so far this year in the Championship.
But the forward has plenty of experience in the Premier League, including last season in the top-flight when he scored at Villa Park on 17 August 2019.
He’s got a strong record of 48 goals in 161 Premier League appearances during his career so far and has the versatility to play anywhere across the frontline with his combination of pace and power.
If King can get his full fitness back, then he would be a shrewd addition to the Villa squad.
The Norway international has proven himself as a quality performer in the past and he would add an extra dimension at Villa Park.
Villa’s form so far this season suggests they could be a surprise outside shot to try compete for the European positions, which is why the manager should be given a backing in the January window to perhaps add a couple of quality faces.
