Aston Villa have reportedly joined the race to sign Luton Town defender James Justin.

According to the Daily Mail, Villa and Stoke City have entered the pursuit for the 21-year-old, while Premier League outfit Leicester City are also believed to be keen.

It is understood that Championship duo Villa and Stoke are both preparing to make an offer for the full-back.

The report details that League One champions Luton would demand around £5million for the sale of their highly-rated ace.

Justin is a versatile defender that can play in both full-back areas, but has thrived this campaign at left-back and helped Luton achieve promotion from League One.

The Englishman made 52 appearances across all competitions this campaign, where he was an ever-present in the backline.

He also weighed in with three goals and nine assists to highlight his attacking qualities.

TBR’s View:

Justin made a big impression in League One this season and definitely looks ready to make the step up in class.

He could be an ideal understudy to Neil Taylor at left-back for Villa and eventually overtake him if he continues to improve.

But the only issue is whether or not the £5million-rated defender could make the step up two divisions to the Premier League.

Villa have a Championship play-off final against Derby County at Wembley to play and they are just one match away from returning to top-flight football.
