Chelsea are hoping to agree a new contract with Conor Gallagher, but a loan move could still be on the cards for the midfielder, who, according to the Daily Mail, is wanted by the likes of Aston Villa and Leeds United.
Gallagher is attracting attention after a superb season in the Championship. He scored six goals and provided eight assists across spells with Charlton and Swansea.

The Daily Mail recently reported that Leeds had made an enquiry for Gallagher, with Chelsea yet to make a decision on his future.
And the Mail is now suggesting that Marcelo Bielsa’s side remain in the hunt, but they face competition from the likes of Crystal Palace, Newcastle United and the Villans.

The Daily Mail notes that the Blues want to agree a new contract with the 20-year-old. He has two years remaining on his deal at Stamford Bridge.
And the report adds that a loan move could still happen this summer.
TBR View: Gallagher’s admirers will not be surprised by Chelsea’s stance
The clubs interested in Gallagher will not be surprised to see Chelsea open contract talks with the youngster. It would have been a much greater shock if they opened the door for sides to sign him permanently.
His form in the second tier hints that he has an incredibly bright future ahead. So plenty of Chelsea fans would have been left scratching their heads had Lampard let him leave on a permanent basis.
But it now appears that the Blues are ready to tie him down to fresh terms before he moves on temporarily once again.
