Aston Villa are reportedly interested in Brighton defender Lewis Dunk.
The Sun reports that the Midlands giants are about to break their transfer record for Club Brugge’s striker Wesley Moraes, but more targets are already being lined up.
It is understood that manager Dean Smith wants to bolster his defence and Dunk is named as a summer target.
Dunk is believed to be edging close to a £30million move to Leicester City (Teamtalk), but it looks like there could be fresh competition for him in the shape of Villa.
The 27-year-old is a no-nonsense centre-back that has proven himself to be a force in the Premier League during the last two seasons and played a key role in retaining Brighton’s top-flight status.
He is a 6ft 4in colossus that is a monster in the air and a real leader in defence too.

TBR’s View:
Dunk would be a massive statement signing for Villa if they do sign him, but it looks like he would demand a club-record fee.
The £45,000-a-week ace (Spotrac) is someone at the peak of their powers and he’s surely got the quality to walk straight into the Villa XI.
He’s a great passer of the ball and has one senior international cap for England, which is why it would be a surprise if he swapped Brighton for a newly-promoted side.
