Aston Villa are reportedly in pole position to sign Copenhagen defender Victor Nelsson.
According to Danish publication Ekstrabladet, the Premier League side are one of several teams interested in the 21-year-old.
Apparently Villa have offered just under €10 million/£9 million for Nelsson, and it is stated by Ekstrabladet that the offer is difficult for Copenhagen to ignore.

Nelsson is a highly rated young player over in Denmark.
He is yet to earn a senior international cap, but has represented his country at all youth levels.
Last term he played a whopping 54 games in all competitions, suggesting the player as having excellent levels of fitness.
Any deal for Nelsson could potentially accelerate Bjorn Engels’ exit from the club, with the Belgian having been linked with a return to his homeland (Walfoot).
TBR’s View – A gamble for Villa
Nelsson appears to be a player with exciting potential, but a deal by Villa could be a slight risk.

There is a big difference in standard between the Danish Superliga and the Premier League, and the youngster may need some time to adapt.
That said, £9 million in today’s market is hardly breaking the bank and he could well prove to be a shrewd find.
