Aston Villa’s summer spending might not be over just yet. According to The Express, Aston Villa still believe they can land Said Benrahma before the end of the transfer window.

The Villans have until 5pm tomorrow to complete their Benrahma transfer. But Dean Smith is hoping to get this deal over the line to bolster his attacking options for the new season.

Benrahma currently plays for Brentford and he joined last summer when Smith was the manager. Smith has already visited his old club to sign Ezri Konsa and Benrahma could follow.

The Algeria international enjoyed a stunning first season in England, scoring 11 goals and providing 17 assists for the Bees. This has caught the attention of top-flight clubs.

Aston Villa hope to win the race and continue their summer spending. The West Midlands club have already signed 12 players for their new campaign but they still want Benrahma.

Where does Benrahma fit in?

Algerian winger Benrahma has a lot of flair and he is a versatile attacking midfield option. The 23-year-old is comfortable operating on either wing or through the middle, making him a useful squad option for Smith.

Benrahma offers goals, assists, skill and excitement. Fans will be on the edge of their seats if he can replicate his Championship form in the top-flight. For the right price, this could be a coup as he is still young and has the potential to improve.
