Aston Villa could be about to reignite their interest in Werder Bremen star Milot Rashica, according to a report from German publication, Deich Stube.
Rashica, 24, hasn’t really got going this season after missing parts of the season with a knee injury. Indeed, the Kosovan has yet to score this term despite being a regular in the goals and assist columns last season.
Rashica scored 11 times and assisted a further eight last season as he impressed in the Bundesliga. Both Bayer Leverkusen and Wolfsburg are said to be keen on the player, too.
Villa have an abundance of attacking options at their disposal but after a good start, Dean Smith could see Rashica as added firepower if he fancies a second half of season push towards the European spots.
A fine player but where does he fit? – TBR View
Villa are playing some excellent football and there’s no doubt Rashica is a fine player. The issue for him would where would he slot in?
The obvious shout is down the right, with Jack Grealish unlikely to be moved from his inside left position. But the likes of Trezeguet and Bertrand Traore are also vying for a starting berth, so Rashica would have to buckle down.
However, at £18m – if that is still the price – he does look a bargain. Especially if he can get back to the levels he displayed last term.
