Aston Villa have reportedly joined the pursuit for Real Valladolid midfielder Ruben Alcaraz.
According to Marca, the newly-promoted English side have entered the race for the 28-year-old.
It is understood that his performances in La Liga have not gone unnoticed this campaign, with Getafe another team eyeing him this summer.
The report details that the Spaniard’s performances mean he is now valued at around £8.8million.
Alcaraz was one of the standout players for Valladolid this season, who escaped relegation in La Liga and finished 16th.
The central midfielder was an ever-present in the starting XI with 35 appearances across all competitions and was a consistent performer.
He is most recognised for breaking up play in front of the defence and his composure on the ball too.

TBR’s View:
Villa can now start preparations for next season in the Premier League, after they beat Derby County 2-1 in the Championship play-off final.
Manager Dean Smith did a stunning job to get the Midlands clubs promoted and it’s vital now how they act in the summer market.
The midfield area is perhaps the strongest in the squad and it’s in defensive plus offensive areas they should strengthen first.
But Alcaraz is a decent option to consider that has impressed this season in the Spanish top flight and to pick him up for under £10million is a potential bargain.
