Aston Villa could sanction the exit of full-back Frederic Guilbert after just one season at the club.
That’s according to France Football, who say the Midlands club are pushing the 25-year-old towards to door, after Matty Cash officially signed from Nottingham Forest.
The report says several Premier League and Championship teams are ‘attentive’ to the player’s situation, with a return to France also possible.

Guilbert actually signed for Villa in January 2019 for about £5 million (Birmingham Mail), but was loaned straight back to Caen to complete the 2018/19 season.
Last term, the Frenchman made 29 appearances in all competitions for Dean Smith’s side, with 25 of those coming in the Premier League.
The club may have struggled in their first season back in the top-flight, but Guilbert was a player that did endear himself to the Villans faithful.
TBR’s View – Guilbert a gonner?
He may have impressed in parts for Villa in his first season with the club, but it could well already be the end of the line for Guilbert.

The signing of Cash means he will no longer be a regular starter, and Smith has Ahmed Elmohamady to play as a backup to the Englishman.
One suspects not too many Villa supporters would be too happy if he left, but perhaps Smith’s tendency to play Ezri Konsa at right-back towards the end of 2020/21 tells a story.
