Unai Emery has only officially been Aston Villa manager for a number of hours, but he’s already being linked with new signings.
Emery was appointed as Steven Gerrard’s replacement last week, after the Liverpool legend was sacked following their 3-0 defeat to Fulham.
Emery will have the benefit of the World Cup break to assess the majority of his squad.
Although some of his players will be going to Qatar, he will have a month to decide what Villa need going into the January transfer window.

One area that has been a cause for concern this season has been Aston Villa’s attack.
Danny Ings is currently the club’s top scorer with three goals, while only seven players have found the back of the net.
Ollie Watkins has just two goals to his name, and has already been told he needs to be more selfish.
While winger Leon Bailey has looked very promising in bursts this season.
It would be an extraordinary coup for the Villains if they were able to sign the Belgian.
However, they believe that his time in Madrid is over and his most likely destination is England.
Villa could make move for Hazard
Unai Emery has already made it clear that he’s a big fan of Hazard.
He once compared him to Mohamed Salah, and said he was a player for ‘defining moments’.
“Hazard is a player of moments, defining moments. It is what we have to avoid,” Emery said.
“Chelsea can win thanks for them, and this match-winning capability we’ve only seen in Messi, Cristiano, Neymar or Salah. For me, he is in the top five players around the world.”
Hazard hasn’t quite shown those same levels of brilliance at Real Madrid as he did at Chelsea.
However, it’s impossible to ignore how good he was in the Premier League, and he was instrumental in Chelsea winning two Premier League titles.

If Emery can help Hazard rediscover even some of that form, he would immediately elevate Aston Villa.
Villa also have a very good financial backing, and could make a move for Hazard if the price is right.
There will be some Villa fans who will be wary of signing such a high-profile player from Spain after Philippe Coutinho’s dramatic downturn in form.
It would certainly be an exciting addition to the squad, and the ‘unbelievable’ forward has something to prove.
