Aston Villa captain Jack Grealish could reportedly be ruled out of action through injury for four weeks.
The 24-year-old was substituted off late on during the weekend’s 3-0 defeat away to Manchester City.
According to the Daily Mail, early signs suggested he would miss a two-week period due to a calf problem.
The report explains that there are concerns he could miss four weeks and that would ruin any chances of a call-up to Gareth Southgate’s England squad.
Grealish is a key player for the Midlands giants this season and it looks like he could miss three fixtures before the next international break.
The attacking midfielder may be sidelined for Wednesday night’s cup fixture against Wolverhampton Wanderers, as well as Premier League fixtures against Liverpool and Wolves again.
He’s scored four goals and supplied four assists in 12 games across all competitions this campaign, which is why he would be a significant loss to Dean Smith’s squad.

TBR’s View:
Villa fans are nervously waiting for an official update on Grealish’s fitness, but it doesn’t look too positive and they may have to make do without him in the immediate future.
It would be a real blow individually for the playmaker if he’s unavailable for selection during the international break, as his performances in the top-flight deserve to be recognised by Southgate.
On a positive he could miss just two league fixtures and it will be up to Villa players to really step up during his absence.
