Aston Villa are taking an increasing interest in Aaron Hickey, with Celtic also keen on the left-back, according to a report from The Sun on Sunday (17/10; page 59).
The 19-year-old appears to have taken his game to the next level this term. He has already made seven appearances in Serie A for Bologna.

He has actually scored twice in his last three in the Italian top flight. And it seems that his name is once again going to be linked with a move ahead of the January transfer window.
The Sun on Sunday (17/10; page 59) reports the Villans want the teenager. But the report notes that there are other English clubs and Celtic monitoring the former Hearts man.

And it is claimed that Hickey is happy in Italy. So they may have work to do to convince the youngster to leave.
Aston Villa may face tough battle persuading Hickey to join
Hickey is plying his trade in the top-half of Serie A right now. So you can understand why he is not in a rush to move on.
Aston Villa have Matt Targett in the left-back spot. And while they will probably need a long-term rival to the 26-year-old, Hickey may not be too keen to leave if he is not going to be first-choice.
Celtic could certainly do with more quality in that area of the field. However, Bologna are unlikely to let Hickey leave on the cheap.
So the Hoops may also face a difficult task if they decide to make a move for their former academy starlet.
