Aston Villa have reportedly agreed a fee with Manchester United for the signature of Argentina goalkeeper Sergio Romero.
Dean Smith’s side have been looking to bring in a new goalkeeper this summer and finally plug what has become a problem position at Villa Park.
Romero has recently emerged as a major target after it became clear the Argentine number one was set to lose his place as number two at Old Trafford to the returning Dean Henderson.
Now, according to MARCA in Argentina, Aston Villa and United have reached an agreement over a transfer fee.

They report that Aston Villa will pay an initial €8 million (£7.1m) for the 96-cap Albiceleste international.
He will compete with Tom Heaton for the first-team position once the England international has fully recovered from his knee injury.
That is if Aston Villa can finalise personal terms with the player.
A report from The Sun this week has suggested that Aston Villa may struggle to secure his services because of his wage demands. The same publication has previously suggested Romero is on £70,000-a-week at Old Trafford, a fee Aston Villa are seemingly unwilling to match.
But should both parties reach a compromise on the wage front, then Aston Villa should seemingly get their man.
