Leeds United appear to have received a boost, with Brazilian outlet UOL reporting that Arthur Cabral’s agent has travelled to Europe to try and agree a move to Elland Road for the striker.
The Whites have been linked with the 22-year-old for a little while. Globo Esporte reported earlier this month that Leeds had made a £16.3 million bid for the youngster.
Arthur spent last season on loan at Basel. His form of 14 goals in 25 games convinced the Swiss side to make his switch permanent.
But it appears that he could soon be on the move once again however. UOL reports that his representatives are in Portugal trying to agree another switch for Arthur.
The report adds that the youngster is keen to play in the Premier League. It is suggested that Basel want £18 million for the forward.
TBR View: Reports hint move may not be far away
There looks to be a little way to go before the two clubs agree on a valuation. UOL’s report notes that Leeds’s offer includes an initial fee worth £13.6 million.
But if the reports are accurate, it is a promising sign. Arthur is reportedly keen on moving to the Premier League, and Leeds have apparently confirmed their interest with a bid.
With his agent now reportedly working on making a move happen, it appears that the Whites may be in a strong position.
