Report: Arteta has put 17-year-old Arsenal prospect in first-team training before Hibs clash this evening
Omari Hutchinson has been called into Arsenal pre-season training ahead of their first friendly game against Hibernian tonight, Football London report.
Hutchinson is still only 17, but he is regarded as one of the top prospects in the Gunners’ academy.
The youngster has dazzled at under-23 level – despite playing well above his age group.
And it now seems that Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is keen to take a look at the attacker first-hand.
Playing this evening?
Whether Hutchinson will get on the pitch against Hibs tonight remains to be seen.
But the prospect surely must be pleased with the opportunity that he is being given over the build up to the campaign.
Hutchinson is part of a clutch of youngsters who are now working with Arsenal’s senior squad.
Arteta is renowned as being an excellent training ground coach, so the prospects should only benefit from the experience.
And if Hutchinson can take his chance over pre-season, he may just find his stay in first-team training extended as the season progresses.
