According to a report from Eurosport, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is not keen on signing Julian Draxler from PSG.
A report from 90Min claimed that the German World Cup winner was on the radar of the Gunners, with a loan move for the midfielder said to be being eyed.
Draxler, 27, has seen his career stall somewhat in recent seasons but has played at the highest level and can play as an attacking midfielder, something the Gunners are desperate to add to their squad.
However, Eurosport claim that Draxler’s links to previous manager Arsene Wenger – he was a long-term target of the Frenchman – are putting those at the club off making a move. The Gunners heirarchy apparently keen to see Arteta bring in his own targets.
Draxler has been consistently linked with a move to England in the last few windows. He made a big money move to PSG and is said to be on wages around the £120k-a-week mark, per the Sun.
Draxler has stalled, he’s not the answer anyway – TBR View
There’s always conflicting reports during transfer windows but it wouldn’t be surprising to see Arsenal move quickly on from any supposed interest in Draxler.
Despite being a talent, he’s simply not kicked on like he’d have expected and there’s an argument that he’d not actually improve the team at the moment.
Arsenal needs someone who can make an instant impression, not a player who is going to need time to get back to his best.
