Arsenal youngster Tyreece John-Jules is closing in on a sealing a move away from the Emirates, with the Independent reporting that the striker is set to join Lincoln City on loan for the rest of the season.

The 18-year-old looks to be one of the most exciting prospects coming through at Arsenal. He has made 12 appearances in Premier League 2 this term, and he has bagged five goals. He also scored in his only appearance in the EFL Trophy this year.

The club seemingly confirmed their high hopes for the teenager in the summer by handing him a new contract one year after he signed professional terms with the Gunners (via club’s official website).

He has since been included in the matchday squad by Mikel Arteta, and the Independent suggests that he has trained with the senior side.

And it appears that he will now get the chance to show what he can do in first-team football. The Independent reports that he is heading to Sincil Bank for the rest of the season.

The report notes that he has received assurances over game-time ahead of the move.

TBR View – Lincoln move could be fantastic chance for John-Jules

The Imps have been heavily reliant on the goals of Tyler Walker so far this season. The forward is the only player in Michael Appleton’s squad to have bagged more than three league goals this term.

But it appears that there is a chance that he may not be at Lincoln much longer. Nottingham Forest boss Sabri Lamouchi hinted earlier this month that Walker could be recalled from his loan (via Nottinghamshire Live).

Whether Walker stays or not, Appleton does not appear to have enough strikers in his squad. And that could leave John-Jules with a fantastic opportunity.

He is perhaps going to have to produce something special to really catch Arteta’s eye while he is away. But his time on loan could definitely confirm to the Arsenal fans that he is a name to look out for in the coming years.
