Reiss Nelson is planning to stay at Arsenal and fight for a place in Mikel Arteta’s plans despite attracting loan interest ahead of the January transfer window, according to a report from Football London.
Nelson has made nine appearances in all competitions for the Gunners this season. He played the full 90 minutes as Arteta looked on in the weekend’s draw at Everton.

Football London reports that Bayer Leverkusen remain interested in the 20-year-old after registering an interest in the summer.
However, it appears that they are going to be disappointed again.

The report suggests that sources close to the player have suggested that Nelson wants to stay at the Emirates and bag a regular spot in the Spaniard’s lineup.

It potentially looks to be a brave move from Nelson. He was impressive during a spell with Hoffenheim last season, scoring seven goals in the Bundesliga. And some may be tempted to suggest that another good spell away from North London may be more beneficial.
But Nelson may be optimistic that his chance will come under Arteta. And the decision to snub a move away will look a masterstroke if he is playing regularly by the time the campaign concludes.
