Arsenal’s Folarin Balogun is now being tracked by just three clubs, with the young Gunners striker having still failed to sign a new deal with the club.

Balogun is a man in-demand this January and heading into the summer. The striker’s contract is due to end, meaning he can sign for someone one a free if he choose to do so.

As many as 15 clubs are said to have expressed an interest, including Liverpool. But the Guardian claims today that the race has whittled down to just the three teams now, who are all hoping to lure Balogun.

There is no mention of who those clubs are. But in the week, RB Leipzig were said to be close to a deal for Balogun, while a number of other suitors could be in the mix.

Balogun is wanting first-team football but has so far only managed minor appearances and minutes under Mikel Arteta. The Gunners boss, though, does want to keep his man, and admitted as much just this past week.

TBR View: The longer this goes, the more worrying it becomes

You just get the horrible feeling here that Arsenal are going to end up losing Balogun for nothing before they’ve even seen his best.

It’s such a shame, too. He’s clearly a massive talent and Arteta obviously likes him. The issue comes down to minutes, with the Gunners boss favouring the likes of Lacazette and Nketiah in the main.

Balogun looks like he’s going to move on and Arsenal will be hoping it’s a decision they aren’t left to rue.
