Arsenal goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez appears to have moved a step closer to joining Aston Villa, with The Independent reporting that he has agreed personal terms with the Villans.
Martinez’s future at the Emirates has looked to be in some doubt in recent times. The Daily Mail reported this week that Villa had offered around £15 million for Martinez.

It was suggested that Dean Smith wanted Martinez in his squad by the time they face Sheffield United in their opening fixture of the new season.
And it appears that Smith is edging closer to getting his wish.

According to The Independent, Martinez has agreed personal terms with Villa. It is suggested that he is ready to sign a four-year contract worth around £60,000-a-week.
The report notes that Villa and Arsenal are yet to agree a fee. However, negotiations are set to continue as the Gunners hold out for £20 million.
TBR View: Martinez move looking increasingly likely
It would now be a huge surprise if Martinez did not leave. As noted by The Independent, the two clubs are not too far away in their valuations.
And the 28-year-old is clearly keen to make the move. So, unfortunately for the Arsenal fans keen to see him stay, it would appear that his exit is looking increasingly likely.
The one positive is that Arsenal will have plenty of time to secure a replacement.
But, given Martinez’s form last season, that is going to be no easy task for Mikel Arteta.
