Report: Arsenal willing to sell Lacazette to fund move for Tammy Abraham

Arsenal want to move for Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham and could be prepared to sell French striker Alexandre Lacazette to help fund the move.

Lacazette’s future has been up in the air even since the end of the season, as Mikel Arteta looks to overhaul the Gunners squad.

Reports yesterday from The Telegraph suggest that Chelsea’s Abraham is now a target for the Gunners. The Blue striker is said to be valued at around the £40m mark.

Further, The Telegraph also state that in order to fund a move for Abraham, Lacazette could be sold. The report further emphasises claims last week that suggested the Gunners were actively looking to market the Frenchman.

Carlo Ancelotti's Last Real Madrid XI: Where Are They Now?

Abraham is one of the players who could leave Chelsea this summer. The striker lost his place to Timo Werner and Kai Havertz last season. And despite Olivier Giroud also leaving Stamford Bridge, Abraham may still be moved on.

Arsenal have a lot of nice players who can play good football, but they don’t have someone like Abraham in the squad. The striker brings a bit of height, presence, and hustle and bustle when he plays.

Sure, his goalscoring record isn’t the very best in the PL. However, he did score 15 goals in his 34 games under Frank Lampard.

For Arsenal, they need options if they’re going to succeed. For all the talent the likes of Smith Rowe, Martinelli, and Saka possess, sometimes it’s better to simply have someone to hit up top.
