Arsenal are well aware that they will have to see off competition from Liverpool if they hope to sign Martin Odegaard permanently, according to a report from the Daily Star.
Odegaard’s future continues to prove a key talking point for the Gunners. He went into the international break off the back of an amazing run of form for Mikel Arteta’s side.

It appeared that his superb performances may actually harm Arsenal in the long run. Of course, it was always set to become much more difficult to keep the Norwegian if he found his best form.
And according to the Daily Star, Arsenal now fear that his asking price has risen to £50 million.

It is also claimed in that report that Liverpool are one of the sides interested in the 22-year-old. The Star suggests that Arsenal are also aware of interest from PSG and Chelsea.
The good news for the Gunners is the Star adds that Arteta’s men are optimistic that they are in pole position.
TBR View: Bidding war may not play out well for Arsenal or Liverpool
The financial strength of Chelsea and PSG may not be good news for Arsenal and Liverpool. If Real Madrid sense that they can spark a bidding war, the latter two sides will surely become underdogs.
The fact that Arsenal are building that relationship with Odegaard now may help them. But surely, neither they or the Reds will be in the best position if his asking price rises further.
