Arsenal are interested in signing Wilfried Zaha this summer, with The Sun claiming that the Crystal Palace star’s departure is inevitable when the season concludes.
Zaha has not been quite as productive this term. He had a direct hand in 15 Premier League goals last season, scoring 10 and contributing five assists.
However, this time around, he has scored three and set up three. Nevertheless, the interest in him appears to remain.
The Sun reports that Bayern Munich are preparing an offer for the 27-year-old, while Arsenal remain interested in the Ivory Coast international, who they targeted last summer.
The Sun notes that Everton have backed away from targeting Zaha due to Financial Fair Play concerns, with the forward rated at £75 million.
TBR View – Arsenal should steer clear of Zaha
Zaha is a fantastic talent. However, Arsenal are hardly lacking options in the final third. And spending £75 million looks to be a massive risk.
Admittedly, it is a risk that could pay off. Zaha appears to have the potential to be one of the best players in the league.
However, it is a remarkable outlay for a player who has had a direct hand in six league goals this term. He may, of course, benefit from not being the focal point as he often is at Selhurst Park.
If Arsenal can agree a lower price, perhaps it may be worth the gamble. But for £75 million, it would surely be little surprise to see Mikel Arteta look elsewhere.
