Arsenal have joined the race to sign Jules Kounde from Sevilla, according to a report from El Gol Digital – and that may have implications for Tottenham Hotspur.
Kounde appears to be attracting attention from a host of top sides from across Europe. And according to El Gol Digital, the 22-year-old’s asking price has now dropped from £77 million (€90 million) to around £51.3 million (€60 million).

That has alerted the Gunners, as well as Manchester United. And it is suggested in the report that his most likely destination is the Premier League.
Interestingly, it would appear that Spurs may want to take note of how their North London rivals get on in their pursuit of Kounde.

That is because, according to another report from El Gol Digital, Julen Lopetegui has identified Davinson Sanchez as his top target should Kounde be sold.
So it would appear that Kounde heading to Arsenal would potentially lead to Spurs having an offer to respond to.
TBR View: Huge coup if Arsenal signed Kounde
A centre-back arguably does not need to be a priority for Mikel Arteta this summer. The Gunners have plenty of options in that area of the field. And they will welcome William Saliba and Konstantinos Mavropanos back from their loan spells at the end of the season.
But signing Kounde would be a huge statement of intent. The youngster is developing into a fantastic all-round defender already.
The stature of the clubs chasing him tells its own story. And if his asking price has indeed dropped dramatically, one club could potentially set their sights on a real bargain.
