Arsenal are interested in signing Bayer Leverkusen forward Kevin Volland, with the 27-year-old amongst the names set to be put to Mikel Arteta ahead of the January transfer window, according to Sky Sports.
Arteta is gearing up for his first window since returning to the Emirates last week. And it appears that the club could look to strengthen their attacking options.

Sky Sports reports that Volland’s name is set to be put to the Spaniard ahead of a potential January bid for the Germany international.
It is noted by Sky Sports that the former Hoffenheim man has just 18 months left on his contract. So perhaps Arsenal will be hoping that Leverkusen are open to negotiating a move.

Volland’s record this season is encouraging. He has scored five goals and provided six assists in the Bundesliga. He has also scored once in the Champions League. Interestingly, his assists have all come while playing up front, while three of his goals have come while playing out wide on the left.
It is perhaps surprising that Arsenal are looking at signing a forward in January. It does not appear to be an area of serious concern for the Gunners.
There will be plenty of supporters who will implore Arteta to prioritise improving the defence.
It must be noted that Volland has reached double figures for league goals in the last two seasons, but you could understand why some supporters may have their reservations.
