Arsenal have reportedly turned down the opportunity to sign Christian Eriksen in January, according to Italian outlet Calciomercato.
The Denmark international has struggled to establish himself as a regular in the Inter Milan line-up since joining for a reported £18million just under a year ago.
Eriksen shone at Tottenham Hotspur, making 305 competitive appearances for Arsenal’s rivals and registering 69 goals and 89 assists.

However, the 28-year-old has made just 38 appearances for Inter in all competitions, with only 12 of those coming from the start.
According to Calciomercato, the Nerazzurri are willing to let Eriksen go, potentially on loan, to get him off their wage bill – £100,000-per-week after tax, according to The Times.
Despite missing out on Dominik Szoboszlai, Arsenal aren’t thought to be interested in Eriksen, and have rejected the chance to take him on.
TBR View:
It’s not been a great 12 months for Eriksen, who has gone from being one of Spurs’ key players – so much so that Daniel Levy reportedly placed a £225million price tag on him two years ago (AS) – to a fringe player at Inter.
Arsenal are in need of a creative playmaker but perhaps they might be interested in someone a bit younger, with more future resale value, who they can immediately sign permanently?
