Arsenal are set to press ahead with launching a permanent bid for Martin Odegaard, after reports suggested Real Madrid will sell the midfielder.
The Times makes the claim, suggesting Arsenal have been encouraged by the news coming out of Madrid that the Spanish giants want to sell a number of players to fund a summer move for Erling Haaland.
Odegaard, along with current teammate Dani Ceballos, is said to be on a list of Madrid players up for sale. The Norwegian midfielder is currently on loan withn the Gunners, having settled in nicely following a January move.

News that Madrid are open to a sale could well thrust Edu and Mikel Arteta into action. The Arsenal boss has been impressed with Odegaard, who has become a regular fixture in recent weeks.
Odegaard, 22, was initially thought to want the chance to make it big at the Bernabeu. But he could now be tempted by a permanent switch to North London, given Madrid’s apparent willingness to give him up.
TBR View: Arsenal have to move, the time is now
If ever there was a case of a door swinging wide open for a club, this is it. Madrid are essentially saying ‘come and buy him’ here, although it remains to be seen how much they’ll want.
Odegaard has made a huge impression. He’d already impressed Thomas Partey prior to joining, with the Ghana midfielder citing how ‘intelligent’ and difficult to play against Odegaard was.
If Arsenal mean business when it comes to the Norwegian, then the time is surely now for them to swoop.
