Arsenal are looking into the possibility of signing Italian midfielder and Euro 2020 star, Domenico Berardi, according to Fantacalcio.
Berardi, 27, is currently with Sassuolo and is once again impressing for the Italian side this season. He’s already scored five goals in ten games, following on from the 17 he hit last term.
During Euro 2020, Berardi emerged as one of the stars of the show for The Azzurri. Deployed predominantly as a winger, Berardi helped Italy go all the way and claim glory against England at Wembley.

However, Fantacalcio claims that Arsenal are among the clubs keen on signing Berardi. The Gunners, though, could have to fork out a decent fee.
In the summer, Liverpool were said to be keen on Berardi. But at the time, Sassuolo had bumped his price up to around £43m. Of course, Arsenal are not averse to spending on the right player, as their summer business demonstrated.
Sassuolo have been a hotbed of talent in recent times. The Italian side lost Manuel Locatelli in the summer, and will be keen on keeping hold of Berardi if they can.
TBR’s View: Berardi a fine player who proved himself in the Euros
You have to say, the evidence seems to point to Berardi being a better fit at Arsenal than the struggling Nicolas Pepe. He was stunning in the Euros at times, and was a key component in the Italy side.
Even if the price is around £43m, then it could be a bargain. At 27, he’s moving into his prime years. Of course, Sassuolo will want to keep their man. But, with respect to the Serie A side, there are bigger clubs out there.
Arsenal are obviously keen to keep building under Mikel Arteta. The summer signings have worked so far, so the chance to add more in January might well be taken. Berardi, then, would seem a solid fit.
