Arsenal are to meet with the agents of Martin Odegaard today with the Sunday Mirror (15/8; page 68) reporting that an agreement over an initial loan is expected to be thrashed out.
The Gunners look set to bring the Norwegian back to the Emirates. Of course, he spent the second-half of last season on loan in North London.

Mikel Arteta is still on the lookout for a new number 10. But it would appear that a deal may now be close.
According to the Sunday Mirror (15/8; page 68), Odegaard’s agents are set to fly into London today to thrash out an agreement.

It is claimed that the 22-year-old will return on an initial loan with Arsenal covering his wages. However, the report adds that the Gunners will have first refusal to make the move permanent for £30 million next summer.
Loan to buy for Odegaard may be inspired deal from Arsenal as agents fly in
Admittedly, some Arsenal fans seem to have their doubts about bringing Odegaard back.
He is clearly an exceptional talent. But it would appear that the fanbase is divided over which number 10 to pursue.
Having said that, a loan could be inspired if Arsenal do end up with first refusal.
Landing Odegaard on loan would allow the Gunners to put more of their funds into other areas of the squad this summer.
And if he does not impress, Arsenal face a simple decision next summer.
But he arrives with a point to prove. And he will be desperate to prove what he can do over an entire campaign.
